A Song from the Hill Country

How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the herald, the bringer of good news, announcing deliverance,
proclaiming to Zion, ‘Your God has become king.’

(Isaiah 52:7)

About Us

The Society of Our Lady of Penrhys grew from the annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Penrhys in the Diocese of Llandaff of the Church in Wales.

We are, of course, firmly rooted in the catholic tradition of the Church in Wales. However, membership is open to any baptised Christian.

We are a society of people who value the shrine at Penrhys and who are committed to making and promoting pilgrimage there (particularly the annual pilgrimage in May of each year). More information is available in the Membership are of this website

We do not have any ownership of or responsibility for the upkeep of the Shrine of Our Lady of Penrhys.

The present image of Our Lady of Penrhys, carved from portland stone (and the land on which it stands) was erected and is owned by the Archdiocese of Cardiff (You can find out more about this on the 'History' page of this website).

The holy well, which is on the mountainside, is on land owned by the local authority.

Safeguarding

The protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults is important to us. We adopt and follow the Safeguarding procedures of the Church in Wales.
