A Song from the Hill Country

'My soul proclaims...'

Prayers and Devotions

O Mary,
your image, nursing Jesus for a kiss,
was grafted in the branches of an oak tree.
Reveal Jesus to us,
so that, grafted into him,
we may know within our lives the benefits of Salvation
which he won for us upon the tree of Calvary.
O blessed Mary, Mother of God, Our Lady of Penrhys,
Intercede for us. Amen

O Mary,
on this mountain
the Lord has changed the lives of countless pilgrims
through your powerful intercession.
On this mountain
we wonder in the beauty of your example
as you embrace salvation and offer us Jesus, your Son and Lord.
On this mountain, where your name is so great, your intercession so loving,
I humbly claim a share in your prayers, O Mary, Our Lady of Penrhys.

A Prayer for Wales
may our nation once again become a land of song,
with Mary’s Magnificat echoing through the valleys and villages,
a hymn of praise resounding from coast to coast
and calling from city to city.
Rejoicing at the presence of Jesus, whom Mary carried in her womb,
may the ‘Croeso’ stir in our hearts as we welcome her Son and Saviour.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for the Rhondda
Father of all,
as the mountains surround Jerusalem
so you surround your people.
May the good news of your kingdom bring joy to the people of the Rhondda,
so that trusting in you and looking to the mountains that cradle them
they may see a sign of your loving salvation
held in the arms of Mary.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
